Born in 1972 in Erbil, Bawar Faris Bawa is a dedicated advocate for the Kurdish struggle, with a life shaped by the sacrifices of his family, including the martyrdom of his sister, Khaja Bawa, in the 1991 Erbil uprising. After years in exile in Iran, the Czech Republic, and Sweden, he returned to Erbil in 1999. where he has been instrumental in the reconstruction and governance of Kurdistan.

Fluent in English, Swedish, and Persian, Bawar now stands as a candidate for the Kurdistan Parliament in 2024, representing the Kurdistan Democratic Party, committed to the prosperity, security, and future of his homeland.
